The Think Update #1 (October 15, 2019)

👋Hello and welcome to the first ever Think Update, from the Think Institute & Joel Settecase🙌

My goal is for this to be a quick refueling stop for your spiritual journey. I want to give you a brief, curated list of tools and tips both from the Think Institute and elsewhere that will equip you to explain, share and defend your Christian beliefs.

We're just getting started, so please feel free to give us any feedback you may have. Send it to TheThink.Institute@gmail.com (or simply reply to this email).

Thanks for taking this ride with me. If you enjoy it, share it with someone else, so they can subscribe here

Here we go. I hope it makes you think.

Let's get you started with three new tools for your journey.

READ We Are All Philosophers by John M. Frame.
John Frame is my favorite theologian and philosopher. After many years teaching and writing, he’s now retired, and this is reportedly his final book. I’m on a mission to read 29 books this year, and this was number 26 for me. What number are you on? Whether you are on 1 or 100, add this to your reading list! It’s only 79 pages (not counting the Appendix), but it’s packed with deep knowledge about how you can think in a biblical way about life’s important questions. Read it and develop your biblical #Worldview.

LISTEN OR WATCH: “Methods of Evangelism (That Actually Work) With Tom Schmidt” (Listen on Podcast) (Watch on YouTube)

This conversation between church planting pastor Tom Schmidt and Yours Truly will help you think about what the Bible really says about evangelism, explore a few different ways of sharing the Gospel (by yourself and with your church), and handle common problems people have with the discipline. Watch it, like it, and then share it with your pastor! Listen to grow in #Evangelism.

DOWNLOAD: The Bible Memory App | (Get for Apple) (Get for Google Play)

King David once asked, “How can a young man keep his way pure” (Ps. 119:9)? His answer: “by guarding it according to your word.” The same is true for men and women of every age. Memorizing Scripture helps you keep your lifestyle in line with God’s way. Are you memorizing Scripture? You will be, after you download and use this app. This isn’t a paid endorsement. I just love the app. It's mentally challenging and deeply rewarding. I’m currently using it to memorize Romans Chapter 1. Get it and develop your biblical #Worldview

Thanks for hanging out and thinking along with me. Now, about how to keep in touch. Here are three options.
