Joel Settecase
Board President & Executive Director
Joel Settecase earned his MA in Philosophy of Religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and his BA in History from Grove City College. He is the founder and president of The Think Institute, a teaching and outreach organization dedicated to equipping believers to explain, share, and defend the truth of the Christian message with clarity and confidence. With over 15 years of experience in educational leadership and ministry, Joel leads the Hammer & Anvil Society, a discipleship fellowship for Christian men, and teaches biblical worldview and apologetics at Heritage Homeschool Workshops and Village Bible Church.
Joel is the author of The Bible-Based Worldview and the children’s catechism Catakids!, and he hosts the Worldview Legacy podcast and YouTube channel. He has spoken at about 30 different churches, conferences, and events and participated in two public interfaith dialogues, including one organized in connection with the Smithsonian Institution’s traveling Exploring Human Origins exhibit. A seasoned debater, he has engaged in over 90 live debates and debate-style dialogues, including 6 formal debates and numerous informal and livestreamed debates with skeptics and other worldview perspectives.
Joel lives in the Fox Valley area of Illinois with his wife Aliza and their four children, whom they homeschool. When he’s not teaching, speaking, or debating, he enjoys cycling, consuming large amounts of strong coffee, and going on road trips with his family.
